P.J. Redoute etched his name into botanical art through his floral folios. Three of his major works were produced under royal patronage and depicted plants from French imperial gardens. His prints, made by stipple engraving, received praise for their form and coloring. Despite turbulent times, Redouté continued to meticulously create serene folios of flowers. His work is still highly valued.
